Hello my lovelies!
My name is Meg and I’m a photographer based in the heart of the beautiful Pennine Moors in Lancashire! I specialise in equine photography and have set it my life mission to create wonderful photos, inspire others and make people smile.
I have just completed a BA Hons Degree in Photographic Media at Blackburn University, and I am now beginning the next chapter in my life by building my own equine photographic business, which has been a life long dream!
Before university I attended Reaseheath College in Cheshire where I studied an Extended Diploma in Horse Management, and my time at college was defiantly the best years of my life so far!
Horses have always been in my life, I can hardly remember what life was like before them. I have been riding from around the age of five or six, and spent countless hours up at my local riding stables with my like minded horse mad friends helping out and causing mischief at the same time 😉
I currently have one horse named Finntastica (or Finn as he’s preferably known) who is an 18 year old, bay, New Forest X TB gelding who I have loaned from 2011 and owned since 9th September 2016. He’s full of love and cheekiness all bundled into one and (as cliche as it sounds) I honestly do not know where I would be without him.
I also help a lovely lady out named Anne with her horses Mali and Skye. Anne competes in endurance riding and she took me and Finn on our first endurance ride, I have also gained a lot of experience dealing with youngsters from her. I’ve been going up and helping her since I was around thirteen and have been honoured to have been a part of her past and present horses journeys, and I look forward to being a part of the next chapter for her two current youngsters!
My love for photography is something I’m not entirely sure when it actually started. The best way for me to describe it is a quote from John Green’s ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ where he said something along the lines of love was like falling asleep, slowly then all at once, that’s probably the best way to describe how my love for photography started. And since my other passion was horses the two just went together, like bread and butter, mayo and chips, almond butter and dates!… I think you get the idea 😉 I’ve never looked back since.
I am looking forward to building up my business and meeting many amazing horse and human combinations to photograph and share their stories and memories, both on the internet and in photo form.
I hope you enjoy following me along on my journey and I look forward to meeting many amazing horse mad people who I will be proud to call my clients!
The book is made, now is the fun part of writing the story!
